Happy Birthday (to me)

This past weekend was my 26th birthday. I can't believe I'm that old! It was a wonderful weekend filled with close friends and family. On Sunday my mom hosted a brunch for me with just a few people. It was a great time and really good food! Not to mention the cupcakes.

Since we only had a few people coming for brunch we really didn't need too many cupcakes, but they all looked so good so we ended up getting a dozen! We are now eating cupcakes with every meal, not that I am complaining!

Oktoberfest

I love the Fall! This weekend October finally arrived. Unfortunately the cooler weather didn't bother showing up, but I am hoping it cools down soon. Not likely, but we'll see. Anyways with October brings football, beer, and of course Oktoberfest! We were planning on heading down to the Oktoberfest festivities in Tempe, but since it was so hot outside we decided to host our own Oktoberfest at the Nelson/McCann abode. What a great idea that was! We cooked brats with peppers and onions and drank lots of good seasonal beer. And it was all from the comfort of our own home...air conditioning included!! What a great way to welcome the Fall!
